While
you are enjoying the sights and sounds of spring during the
Festival, be sure to visit the Garden Of Hope on grand river
street North beside Sibbick Fuels. This garden was built to
honor Cancer Survivors and in memory of those who did not
survive. Take a little rest on one of the park benches and
reflect on the memories of your loved ones who have passed
on.
The Springtime
In Paris Festival provides an opportunity for schools, churches,
service clubs and youth groups to host a fun(d) raising event
during the weekend of the festival. The Paris Horticultural
Society hosts a garden tour; the Paris Optimist club presents
their annual craft show. Mother Nature and Mother Nature in
Waiting will preside over the Monarch Butterfly release at
the opening ceremony on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Lions Park.
There will be music in the band shell all day Saturday and
Sunday. A live Reptiles at Risk demonstration will be one
of the many activities provided to delight persons of all
ages.
The Festival
committee in partnership with the Paris Horticultural Society
has dedicated proceeds for the past 2 years to planting lilacs
in our beautiful community and to date we have planted 37
lilacs.
